1 down, 1 to go

The upstairs received its new layer of paint yesterday; today it is the main floor's turn. While yesterday's job was an all-day affair (3 bedrooms, 2 baths, 1 hallway, 2 ceilings), today promises to be much shorter (foyer, kitchen, and one long computer/library room). The painter thinks they can knock all that out in 3-4 hours. I will be glad to have it done. My house is in the worst disarray it has seen since we were unpacking boxes to move in. The family room is packed full of books from my floor-to-ceiling bookcase, items from the tops of bookshelves, and the former wall decorations... not to mention 4 ginormous baskets of clean laundry. Today we will be hanging out in the basement (thank goodness it's a finished basement!) in order to prevent mishaps such as the ones that occurred yesterday (doggie brushes by paint.... jumps on our leather couch...). Thankfully I saw that fairly quickly; the paint is no longer there.

Tonight is the meeting for my fundraising group. We have to work on preparing for our upcoming benefit auction in March, and I will fill everyone in on how our (how I would like to say my, considering the only work anyone else has done on it was to submit one of their recipes) cookbook is shaping up. I am hoping to send in the order in a couple of days.

I'll try... it will take a while to get around to that; there's still the putting everything back. I'm sure we'll do some decluttering as we go as well... purging and storing away; getting the house ready to show once we put it on the market in a couple of months.
